Overview
Ascot is one of the wealthiest towns in the United Kingdom. More than one in four houses are worth more than £1 million, and residents enjoy a high quality of life. Ascot is home to the world-famous racecourse and Royal Ascot race meeting. Ascot Racecourse has been in operation since 1711 when Queen Anne rode out from Windsor Castle and declared this area of East Cote the perfect place for her horses to run full stretch. In 2011, Ascot Racecourse will celebrate its tercentenary.
